Cane Hill :(

Fri Aug 29, 2008, 10:08 AM
Since June 2008 the building that first gave me the inspiration to find the beauty in abandoned and hidden away buildings has been in the hands of Squibbs demolition company. Since then they have been swiftly and very systematically removing it forever.

This has provided a chance to see it in a new light - it's thriving with activity once again - for the first time since 1992. It was never going to be there forever and lately i have been making the most of this with a couple of return visits.

It's sad to see it go but also it has been fascinating to see some of the less documented nooks and crannies of the former asylum. Not only have some wards, rooms and equipment been uncovered but lets just say i'm a fan of the 'birds eye view'!

Following this journal keep an eye out for some new deviations that sum up how progress is being made and time has been limited on this Grand victorian building with a long and varied history.

Hope you are all well.

It's brilliant, if a little nerve racking! I quite like the 'trek' - its one of the more satisfying climbs.

That's a shame, always wanted to explore this, thought it would be there forever =(

We will win because we believe in something

'tis a shame. Funnily enough i never envisaged it going so quickly.

Exploring the unseen, capturing the forbidden and rescuing the ravaged beauty of the past from the jaws of dereliction is my passion.
